Congratulations to François Depelsenaire from NGK Ceramics Europe: the New Belgian Maintenance Manager of the Year!

François Depelsenaire, maintenance manager at our customer NGK Ceramics Europe, has won the BEMAS Belgian Maintenance Manager of the Year Award. The candidate is rewarded for his clear maintenance strategy based on TPM principles. He succeeded to reduce considerably both maintenance costs and to reach a high availability of their assets.

BEMAS, the Belgian Maintenance Association vzw-asbl and part of the European Federation of National Maintenance Societies (EFNMS), is a dynamic non-profit organisation for Maintenance Professionals in Belgium, addressing both maintenance managers in the industry and the suppliers of maintenance services and related products. The mission of Bemas is to create a larger awareness and appreciation for maintenance activities and the responsible maintenance managers, by sharing knowledge on maintenance, production reliability & asset management.  (See www.bemas.be)

Amongst other new customers joining the API PRO family we welcome Armstrong Building Products, a business unit of Armstrong World Industries, Inc.

Armstrong has 4 manufacturing plants in Europe situated in three different countries: United Kingdom, France and Germany. API PRO proved an ideal solution for Armstrong providing the extensive multiple plant support which was necessary, including a system fit for all four plants, multiple language support available in local languages and local support teams.

Extensive integration options and interfacing options with a wide variety of programs were also amongst the things which made Armstrong decide on API PRO.

The 6th of November 2009 the new version of API PRO, called Open.7, was released. API PRO Open.7 includes both many developments of the core functionality such as improved screen design features, multi-currency support and extended import and export functionality as well as a new architecture, Rich Internet Application, which is highly suitable for running on Wide Area Networks or by WEB.

Amongst other new developments is the possibility for creating web browser based applications for key functionality of API PRO allowing even more easy and flexible access to the functions vital for your business.

As a brand new product API Maintenance Systems has just released the Job Request Web Portal allowing you to access the Job Request functionality of API PRO by a web browser. The Job Request Web Portal has been designed to provide a simple means of accessing crucial business information without even having API PRO installed on the computer, all you need is an internet connection and you are good to go!

Apart from providing a much more flexible access for current users based on an intuitive native web browser access this also allows for a much wider range of users not registered in the API PRO system to gain access and request jobs vital for your business. The Job Request Web Portal is yet another step in ensuring that API PRO is with you whereever you are!

New API customer: Berglandmilch, a big European dairy orders APIPRO.

This is another step for API PRO to get the leadership in the food and especially in the dairy industry. And again it indicates that API Maintenance Systems is a valuable and appropriate supplier for companies with business at several sites and countries.

For the Berglandmilch company the focus was on optimized planning and scheduling of maintenance activities and machine stopps. Especially in the food industry dealing with perishable goods an unplanned production breakdown would be serious. The reasons for Berglandmilch to choose API PRO were our excellent references in the food and dairy industry and the extensive and professional interfacing solutions between API PRO and other systems like SAP.

Berglandmilch is one of the largest food-producers in Austria. With approximately 900 employees it processes about 1 billion kilograms of milk a year under the three family brand names of Schärdinger, Desserta and Fidus. Roughly 350 articles are produced in the fields of fresh products, long-life milk, cheese, butter, yoghurt and curd cheese. The Berglandmilch group numbers some 12,000 suppliers who are also the owners of the concern.

Berglandmilch togehter with the Rottaler Milch in Bavaria, Germany is operating 8 sites and is considered one of the most important dairies in Central Europe.

API PRO was represented at the MAINTAIN 2008 in Munich - Europe's largest trade fair for industrial maintenance - from the 14th-16th of October. The fair had 6500 participants (5100 visitors, 1400 exhibitors) from 31 countries and 251 exhibiting companies on 11000 m². The API PRO stand was a center of attention for many attendants.

Our German and Swiss team had some very busy days addressing the needs of the representants of more than 80 companies from Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Czech Republic, Italy and Saudi Arabia. Many interested customers was attracted by the stand and got presented with the possibilities of the API PRO system, leading to many discussions about the benifits of using API PRO in different businesses. 

The API PRO team had an excellent fair and thank the attendants of our stand for many interesting discussions regarding API PRO and the different aspects and potential of EAM software. The attention and interest shown from potential customers left no doubt about the market-leading position of API PRO system as a comprehensive and complete EAM system.

Toyota Motor Europe’s Research & Development (R&D) Centre, based in Zaventem (Belgium), are in the middle of an implementation of API PRO, as part of their well known striving for excellence.  From Zaventem, Toyota ensures its cars match European customer's demands. R&D undertakes body, powertrain chassis and electronics design, the selection and testing of materials and components, engine evaluation, and the tuning of the driveability characteristics of all Toyota models. To do so, Toyota have undertaken an ambitious investment plan over the last years. 

With API PRO, they will make sure their testing equipment will be utilized in the most effective way possible.  API PRO was selected because of its wide range of functionalities, including tools for calibration and tools to synchronize maintenance activities with the R&D operations.  Also, API PRO’s very intuitive user interface was decisive,  together with the fact that API PRO is supported and developed by an organization with a clear focus on asset management and maintenance.

Tomorrows Maintenance, Today.

Today, 13th of August 2008, Service Pack 03 for API PRO Xa was released. The Service Pack is a service release that contains only minor new features in API PRO, as it is mainly adressing performance-enhancing issues and corrections.

API Germany has received the written order from THIMM Verpackung in Germany for the implementation of API PRO maintenance management system. The centrally hosted API PRO-system will be covering 4 international production sites.

THIMM Verpackung offers tailor-made packaging solutions and individual corrugated cardboard concepts. With a market share of 5 % and about 290 million Euro turnover, the THIMM Group is among the top 4 in the German corrugated board industry.

There headquarter is in Nortrup, Germany with locations in Germany, Czech Republic and Romania.

From today – 16th April 2008 – Service Pack 02 for V5 Xa is available. The Service Pack contains several corrections and improvements. Example of new functionality available in the Service Pack is:

• New and better  Dashboard. Place your Key Figures exactly where you want them on the Dashboard. New configuration options have also been added.

• The Inspection module now allows more than one registration per day, with a possibility to enter the time of day on each registration. All Inspection Registration and Inspection History, including the link to Excel graph, can handle several inspections per day. 

• The Translation database has undergone a revision since SP1, so that the program references are much more accurate. The SP2 version is fully updated.

• Some changes in modules - most importantly, Graphical Navigator and Dashboard are now part of the basic system.

• New version of the runtime software for Crystal Reports

• Xa SP02 has been tested on, and can run on, Windows Vista.
